Hi there! Thank you for all of the nice comments about my Dad’s passing. For a few days, I could feel myself drifting into depressed, lost Kim. I didn’t workout for over a week and indulged in some old favorite foods while we were in Illinois. I know I need to give myself a break but stuffing my emotions with food isn’t helping anyone, especially myself.
Yesterday was my first day back to the gym in over a week and I definitely missed it. It was back and shoulders day and holy cow, seated military presses with the barbell are no joke! It was tough but great to be there again.
On Sunday evening, I went to the grocery store to pick up some healthier choices for the week. I had a protein smoothie on the way to work. I’ve been making them pretty much the same lately:
1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup frozen berries
2 scoops chocolate protein powder
Lunch was a “hot plate”
Ground beef, broccoli, mushrooms, onions, red peppers and yellow peppers.
Throughout the day I snacked on a packet of tuna and some carrot chips with guacamole.
For dinner, Dane made some baked lemon pepper chicken tenders with cauliflower rice.
He added onions, peppers and mushrooms to the “rice.”
Day 1 back on track = success. Now to keep it going.
