Whole30 Round 2 – Day 5

Good Morning!  It’s Thursday already..the weekend is almost here!  I actually felt like yesterday should’ve been Thursday but I’m trying to be positive. Smile  Day 5 was another successful day.  I’m glad I skipped the headache this time around.  During our first round of Whole30, we both had a headache until Day 5 or 6.

Breakfast:

Dinner:

A “hot plate” made with ground beef, snap peas, onions, mushrooms, spaghetti squash and Sunshine Sauce.  This wasn’t a very photogenic meal but it tasted great.  I can’t believe I waited so long to make this sauce – I love it!  All of the recipes that we’ve tried from Well Fed have been great.  If you don’t have the book yet, I highly recommend it.

C25K – Week 3 Day 2

My new shoes came yesterday!  I was so excited to try them out when I got home from work.  I have wide feet, so buying shoes is always a big ordeal for me.  I was thrilled when I saw these on sale and available in my size!

Wrigley photo bomb.

There was a break in the rain, so we were able to run outside.

We’ve been walking 1 mile to the path we’ve been running on, so we technically do right around 4 miles with a lot more walking than running at this point.

Dane’s new shoes arrived as well and we both thought they made a huge difference.

These pictures never seem to capture just how sweaty we are.

Our chances of running outside the next couple of days are pretty slim as Tropical Storm Andrea makes her way to Florida.  We’re not even a full week into hurricane season and there’s already a named storm.  Hope that doesn’t speak for the kind of year this is going to be.

Our state is underneath there somewhere.

What are your favorite running shoes?

Warmed apples with cinnamon! So simple, but so good! I need to make a hot plate. I just fear that I’m not going to have the right ratio of spices and that it won’t turn out for hubby that he won’t want it again!

I did hear that it is supposed to be a big tropical storm year. They gave a statistic of the projected number of storms to be named, but I, of course, don’t remember what it was.

My running shoes are Asics Cumulus, I believe. I had them fitted at a running store. They keep my shoe on file so if I ever go back and need replacements, they can just pull them up. A friend of mine had her luggage stolen when she was traveling. She had no idea what type of shoe she was wearing at all because she just buys the ones that they fit her into… She stepped into the store and pulled her shoes right up for replacement to submit to insurance so they could be replaced!

That’s awesome! I did get fitted a couple of years ago and it came down to Brooks and Asics. I’ve had 2 pairs of Brooks and loved them so I thought I would give these Asics a try. So far so good. :)

I have wide feet too so I love Asics, I like that color that you got! What app do you use for tracking your run? Be safe over there!

I found Sunshine sauce last whole30 and just love it!!!! I hope the storm pushes on very quickly, we live in cyclone territory here in North Queensland, every summer can bring house lock downs, nothing like the hurricanes I’ve seen from your side of the world. I’m an Asics running shoe kinda girl :-)
