Bike Ride

Good Morning and Happy Monday! Once again the weekend went by in a flash. I went on a bike ride with Kim and Teri yesterday afternoon.  I’ve been saying that I’ve wanted to get a bike for some time but I haven’t actually can’t even remember the last time I was on one.

Kim let me borrow her beach cruiser.

The weather was perfect after several very rainy days in a row.

We ended up covering 10 miles!

Our motivation? Froyo of course.

We went to get back on our bikes to finish our ride when Teri realized her back tire was flat.  We walked over to the gas station to fill it with air but it was immediately flat again.  We’re assuming she ran over some glass although we didn’t see anything in the tire.  We walked our bikes  for awhile until Teri’s husband came to rescue her.

It was so much fun!  I’m hoping that Dane and I can both get bikes soon.

Before our bike ride, Dane and I took his Grandma out for lunch for her Birthday.  She’s 87 today!

A better shot of my hair in natural light.

We went to Ruby Tuesday for lunch.  I had the Veggie Trio with the salad bar.  I forgot to take a pic of my salad.  Oops.

Spaghetti squash, zucchini and mashed cauliflower.

We had a simple breakfast before we went grocery shopping for the week.

Scrambled eggs cooked in ghee, sweet potato cooked in coconut oil and strawberries.

We ate lunch at 2:00pm, so neither of us was really hungry for dinner.  When I came home from our bike ride, Dane was baking some apples.  The house smelled so good!

He used almond meal, coconut, walnuts and pecans for the topping.

Do you own a bike?

What is your favorite weekend treat?

How was your weekend?

I haven’t used the cheap bike that I bought in college in years. I think that is because I figure if I can take a bike ride, I should really be walking the dogs. Guilt!

However, last year, my husband’s parents bought us some nifty bikes so that we could ride them around town when we visit in the summer. We didn’t have a chance last year, due to the weather. So you better believe that I’ll be taking every opportunity on this trip this summer!

I really enjoy riding, but I don’t often make the time. Looks like a good time :)
