Total weight loss (since starting Whole30 (2/18/13) – 16.9

Very happy to see another loss on the scale! The only thing I’m looking to change in the next week is more activity and I’m already off to a good start.

My cholesterol has been a little high for the last few years.  My doctor mentioned to me last year that he would like to see it under 200.  I’m going in for my annual appointment in June, so I’ll get all my blood work done then but recently my iron has been high enough to donate blood.  Once a donation is completed through the Blood Alliance they post some of your test results and vitals on their website.

I can’t remember the last time my cholesterol was under 200!!  Thank you, Whole30!!!  I know my good cholesterol (HDL) has always been high as well, so I’ll share more specific results when I get them in June.

Survey

Workout

Dane and I didn’t get home from his game until 9:00pm but I was determined to get something in.  My initial plan was to walk for 26.2 minutes for Boston but I ended up doing 3.5 miles on the treadmill while watching the first episode of Downton Abbey.  My first time watching this..had to see what the buzz was about.

Misc

I downloaded this book free for my Kindle yesterday.  I haven’t had a chance to check out any of the recipes yet but hopefully I’ll be able to do that today.

We’ve been eyeing this recipe in our Well Fed cookbook for awhile and finally decided to give it a try.  I found this post with the recipe info, however, please note that the giveaway mentioned in that same post is over.  You can also read this to get the skinny on jicama.

Lunch:

Leftover spaghetti squash and meat sauce.  Tasted much better than it looks.

I also had a couple of handfuls of nuts and dried apricots.

Before Dane’s game I warmed up some of the leftover taco meat and threw some broccoli and kale into the mix.  Loved this!

This is totally random but Dane found this turtle in our garage yesterday afternoon!  We have no idea how long he was there!

    Congrats on your loss! I’m totally going to look for that book….can’t beat free :) Your food sounds lovely. I would also ask around the neighborhood about the turtle. My sis found one the other day, it belonged to a neighbor.

    Turtle! love it. I’ve been meaning to watch Downton Abbey on netflix, but trying to get my husband to watch it with me, first. People keep telling me I need to see it. We tried part of one episode a night when we were tired, so he thinks he doesn’t want to see it. But a friend told me by the 3rd episode, I’d be hooked.

    I love Downton, all of the stuffy rules, it’s entertaining! How do you like those jicama fries? I have it on my grocery list to try! Made roasted Brussel sprouts tonight, and I don’t really need to try those again I don’t think:)
