Good Morning and Happy Hump Day a.k.a. Weigh in Wednesday. I wasn’t really sure what the scale was going to say this morning after being up last week.
My weight last week – 170.2
My weight this week – 167.6
Weight loss this week ~ -2.6
Total weight loss (since starting Whole30 2/18/13) – 15.8
Awesome. I’m very happy with that considering my 1 pound gain last week. I’m 99% sure that was due to a certain time but oh well, not much I can do about that.
I was seriously considering signing up for another DietBet earlier this week when I realized that might not be a good idea for me. I feel like I’m finally at a point where I’m not obsessing about the scale. I went from weighing every single day (sometimes multiple times a day) to weekly. This morning was the first time I touched the scale since last Wednesday.
I’ve participated in DietBet’s before and was successful once but for me I just feel that even though I am doing a weekly weigh in, my focus is not solely on my weight. For once in my life, I’m actually eating because I’m hungry and not because I’m stressing out about something or just bored.
I’m a pretty competitive person and I already know that people instantly start posting considerable losses. So, that little voice inside my head will say, “Those people are already losing weight, what can you do to catch up?” I realize everyone has the same goal of losing 4% of your weight and there actually is a weight loss limit but I felt like it might bring back some disordered thinking.
I lost 2.6 lbs this week. I’ve lost 15.8 lbs in less than 2 months and I haven’t tracked a single calorie/point, measured a serving size or deprived myself. This is what is working for me.
We didn’t have eggs for breakfast! Instead we had chicken sausage with cabbage, onions and peppers mixed with crushed tomatoes, avocado along with strawberries and pineapple.
Lunch was brussels sprouts with ground pork, onions, dates and roasted carrots. I love this stuff!
Dinner was 2 salmon cakes and more roasted carrots. I also had a spoonful of almond butter before we left for Dane’s softball game. It’s hard to tell from the picture but that is a small plate.

How is your week going?
Have you participated in a DietBet?
Does anyone have a tip for taking a picture of the scale? The numbers are always so dim when I do it.
