Yesterday was another good day. When I get back on track, I always wonder why I couldn’t remember this feeling when I was totally off course. I haven’t been perfect but I’m making better choices than I was and I’m actually tracking everything I eat. When I was way off in la-la land, I would skip tracking if there as a certain item or meal I ate and didn’t know the points. This topic came up at my Weight Watchers meeting last week and my leader had the best analogy. She said something along the lines of – If you were driving and your tire went flat, you’d fix it and continue your trip, right? You wouldn’t get out of the car and slash all of the other tires. I thought that was perfect and that’s exactly what I was doing. Slashing all of the rest of the tires just because I made a small mistake. I’ve learned that even if I don’t know the points value of something, try to find something similar.
Yesterday started off with some Strawberry Pancakes made with Bisquick Heart Smart and fresh berries.
The picture was taken before I topped it with just a little bit of I Can’t Believe it’s Not Butter and lite syrup. I use a very small amount of syrup because I don’t like my pancakes super sweet.
Lunch was some leftover Chicken Tortilla Soup.
It was even better the 2nd day.
I took some chicken out of the freezer for dinner and we had some broccoli that needed to be used, so I decided to make this Chicken and Broccoli Noodle Casserole from Skinnytaste. I didn’t have any egg noodles, so I used ziti instead.
It turned out good, although I think I added too much pasta. Next time I would add less or use egg noodles like recipe calls for. :)
We spotted some Chobani Vanilla Chocolate Chunk Greek yogurt when we were at Wal Mart the other day. It’s definitely not the healthiest yogurt out there, but I wanted to try a small amount topped with granola.
It was really good..even better than I expected.
I also tracked my water for the day, which seemed to help me hit my goal. During the week I don’t have a problem drinking at least 100 oz. but the weekends are more difficult for me.
Yes, I am loving my new iPhone and the screen shot option. ;)
Last night was the premier of Biggest Loser.
(Source – Biggest Loser Facebook page)
This season is different not only because Jillian Michaels is back but they’re tackling an issue that is becoming an epidemic in our country – childhood obesity. 3 “children” were selected to be on the show and they will have the opportunity to learn what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle in hopes that they will share these ideas with their family and friends. The younger contestants will not spend all of their time at the ranch and they cannot be sent home. I’m so excited to see how they change throughout the season.
While I think Jillian gets a little out of hand, I think she has good reasons for getting inside the contestants heads and the show was not the same without her. I’m looking forward to this season after not watching as much during the last 2 seasons.
Did you watch Biggest Loser? If so, what did you think?
I had to share this picture of Wrigley sleeping last night. He ends up in the funkiest positions that don’t look comfortable at all. :)
And here’s Teagan curled up next to me. This picture is kind of dark but he’s covering his eyes with both of his paws. Too cute.

I have done that (not counting points) on certain meals because I didn’t know. Something about trying to be perfect… I’m going to remember this analogy the next time we are eating out. Very helpful! I’ve made that pasta dish too! I love SkinnyTaste!
I’ve been following you for a while now, but I think this is my first time to comment. Love your blog!

I love that concept – I plan to tell that to myself the next time I veer off track. Also, I just bought all the ingredients for the chicken broccoli casserole – glad to hear you liked it.

It makes a lot of sense. I’m going to add it to the motivational board I’m making.
