Sugar Detox

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas I consumed more sugar than I had in a very long time.  Throughout the year, there were times that I could make a batch of cookies for Dane and not even have one.  The desire wasn’t even there but it was a free for all during the holiday’s.  This past week I made an effort to lower my sugar consumption and now I’m craving it less.

Yesterday, I decided to make something in the crock pot.  For some reason, the first thing that came to mind was Chicken Tortilla Soup.  I searched around for a recipe and came across this one.  It was so easy and healthy, too!

I plugged the ingredients into the Weight Watchers Recipe Builder and the soup (without cheese and tortilla strips) is 3PP per serving.

I only added a little bit of cheese and tortilla strips to mine and it was so good.  I thought it was very flavorful and Dane approved, too.  :)  I’m looking forward to having some for lunch today.

We had the soup late in the afternoon, so I wasn’t hungry for a full meal for dinner.  I decided to make a smoothie for the first time in a long time.

Green Monster Smoothie

1 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen spinach
1 cup vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt (I used Fage)
1 tbsp chia seeds

Yesterday afternoon, I was working on putting a motivational board together.  I walked away for a second and when I came back I found Wrigley laying on it.  He literally has to lay on anything we set on the table.

My ActiveLink assessment is officially over and my 12 Week Challenge begins tomorrow.  I’m excited to get some workouts in this week and see how many Activity Points I earn.

It’s supposed to be a rainy afternoon here, so we’ll be watching Football and doing laundry.  Not looking forward to working 5 days in a row after a couple of short weeks due to the holiday’s.  :)

Do you have the ActiveLink?

If so, what do you like about it?

I’m so glad I’m not the only one that has a cat lying on top of everything I put down! The chicken tortilla soup looks amazing, I’m going to have to make some soon!
