Happy Friday!! :) I’m a little behind on posting my Couch to 5k progress due to a busy week. On Wednesday, Kim and I met up after work for Week 6 Day 1. Surprisingly, Week 6 goes back to some intervals after the 20 minutes straight Week 5 Day 3.
Week 6 Day 1
5 minute warm up
Run 5 minutes
Walk 3 minutes
Run 8 minutes
Walk 3 minutes
Run 5 minutes
5 minute cool down
Easy peasy compared to 20 minutes with no walk break, right? We tried a new route to mix things up and I think we both agreed that we wouldn’t be adding this one into the rotation. Too many cars and not enough sidewalks. I have enough to worry about without the threat of being hit by a car – although that might take my mind off of not being able to breathe. ;)
We started off on opposite side of the bridge as our normal spot. I can’t talk enough about how lucky we are for these views.
I did “ok” while running. I can’t say that it went by in a flash and I had no problems but I did it. It feels good to say that we’re plugging away at Week 6. Definitely makes becoming a C25K graduate seem very realistic! I even tried to pick it up a little for the final minute but I swear it feels like my legs each weigh 200 lbs by the time we’re done. I don’t want to jinx anything, but I haven’t been experiencing any knee problems or discomfort like I was last year at this time. I’m hoping that the little bit of cross training that I’ve been doing has helped strengthen my legs. I knew there was some muscle underneath there somewhere.
We finished just as the sun was setting. I really do love fall (October especially) but I dislike how early it gets dark and it’s only going to get worse!
I wore my tech race shirt from Pink Up the Pace last weekend. I should invest in more white shirts because you can’t see the sweat as much. :)
Once again, my Garmin and my app were off, but I will share both.
You may have noticed that I haven’t been talking about food at all. I was really struggling to get my eating under control, despite the fact that I’ve been very consistent with getting my workouts in. On Wednesday, I committed to tracking EVERYTHING I ate. I was successful and continued on Thursday.
I’m not going to do a separate Wednesday Weigh in post this week but here are my results.
Last week’s weigh in – 176.0
This week’s weigh in – 175.6
Down – .4
I honestly didn’t even think I would see a loss. Since tracking and making better choices the last 2 days, I’m already down another 1.6, so stay tuned for a good loss next week.
We don’t have anything major planned this weekend (Kim andI are doing W6D2 after work today), so hopefully we’ll get some things done around the house and of course there will be plenty of football and baseball! Have a wonderful weekend!

Do you have big plans for the weekend?
