Good Morning and Happy Saturday! I’m up early getting ready to go to Group Power class. I’m not as nervous as I was last week since I know where to go and how to set up now. My friend Amber was nice enough to send me an HRM that she wasn’t using anymore, so I’m excited to see how many calories I burn. As I mentioned in my August Goals, I’m going to try to make it to at least one more class during the week.
I’m going on 2 weeks of following a low carb diet. I honestly never thought I could stick with it for this long without feeling completely deprived, but I do feel better physically. The one thing I do miss, is baking. This week I am going to start incorporating some more carbs into my life, although I do plan on avoiding gluten as much as possible to see if that will continue to keep the scale moving. I’ve also noticed a decrease in headaches. I’ve suffered from headaches and even migraines at times since I was 10 years old and have never been able to determine what causes them. I was also having problems with my scalp being very dry and itchy. I was telling Dane the other day that it’s improved recently, so we’ll see what other changes I notice.
Tina actually did a post this week about Americans eating way too many carbs.
Dane and I decided to be wild and crazy and do our grocery shopping last night. We’ve been wanting to try a new sushi restaurant that opened up right next door to our Publix, so we had dinner before we shopped. I’ve seen rolls done with just cucumber on the outside instead of rice, so I asked the waitress and she said I could choose any roll I wanted and they would substitute the rice for cucumber. Sweet. The roll was so sorry, I didn’t even take a picture of it. I guess it was my fault for being so difficult. :) I had Dane’s miso soup and we shared some edamame, so I was fine. Next time we’ll go to the sushi place that we really like.
Dane’s parents are coming down from North Carolina later today and they’re bringing their dog, Tango. It will be interesting to see how the cats get along with the dog. :)
Sorry for the picture-less post. Have a great Saturday! I’m looking forward to all of the Olympic Track & Field events!!
