Group Power aka Body Pump

Well, I did it. I got up this morning and went to the Group Power class at my gym.  Group Power is just like Body Pump but another company’s variation.  I was a little intimated going by myself, but everyone was very helpful in getting me set up.

I loved it!  I never lift weights on my own, so this class is perfect for me.  I’m not sure if I’ll be able to walk or lift anything tomorrow but it was great.  :)  I’m going to try and incorporate this class into my schedule on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.

I knew I needed some energy for class so I had a small Carb Balance wrap with almond butter before I left.

Probably the most carbs I’ve had all week.

When I got home from the gym we had scrambled eggs with veggies and some reduced fat bacon.

I weighed first thing this morning.

7.8 lbs lost since last Saturday!


Friday morning started with the frittata muffins I had all week.

One of my morning snacks was some Colby Jack cheese and turkey pepperoni.

There was a blood drive  at work yesterday.

I attempted to give but after pricking 2 of my fingers, my iron was just barely too low.  :(  I thought for sure I would be good – especially considering the steak I had for dinner Thursday night.

I went to Cracker Barrel for lunch with my friends Jill and Brooke.  I had the Grilled chicken ‘n Fresh Vegetable salad.

It was really good!  So many veggies!  I like that the vinaigrette dressing is served on the side as well.

I had to leave early to take my sister’s cat to the vet.  He has kidney problems and requires a daily IV.  I didn’t think I could handle doing it, so my sister arranged for our vet to do it.  (Same vet my kitties go to)

Tweek looks thrilled, doesn’t he?  This was before we left and he was actually purring when I took this picture.

When I got home, Dane made some chicken and veggie kabobs on the grill.  I forgot to take a picture while they were still on the skewer. Oops!

Dane had some black beans and rice as well.

After dinner, I was really craving something sweet, so I made a lower carb “chocolate shake.”

I filled my blender halfway with ice.
1 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tbsp cocoa powder
2 Stevia packets

It hit the spot!

I went to bed at 10:00pm, so I would be rested this morning.  I made it to the “D’s” on the Opening Ceremonies.  :)

Time for us to do some grocery shopping.  We have a wedding later this evening.  Have a great Saturday!
