To eat or not to eat

Good Morning!  I just love Saturday mornings.  Even though I don’t sleep real late, it’s nice not having to wake up from an alarm clock.  Even if I wanted to sleep late, it’s almost impossible because our cats think our bed is the ideal wrestling spot early in the morning.

Last night, Dane and I went to a Daytona Cubs game with a friend of ours.  As soon as I got home from work, I got on the treadmill for 30 minutes.

I also wanted to eat something before we left so I wouldn’t be tempted to eat at the ballpark.  Dane asked me what I wanted in my salad and I said, “Just throw a bunch of crap in there.”  He did a great job – this salad was awesome!

In the mix:

Spring mix
Cucumber
Cherry Tomatoes
Red onion
Red pepper
Artichokes
Black olives
Slivered almonds
Strawberries

When we got to the ballpark, I did have one beer the size of my head.  As soon as you walk in, the smell of delicious food is so powerful.  We didn’t get anything and went to our seats.  People around us were eating chicken fingers, french fries, popcorn, hot dogs, pretzels, ice cream, funnel cake sticks and peanuts.  We ate dinner right before 6:00 and the game didn’t end until 11:00.

The frozen yogurt place that’s right down the street from the ballpark was closing, so that wasn’t an option.  On the way home, I did feel hungry, so I was coming up “healthier” options for me to throw together before I went to bed.  I really wanted to throw some sweet potato fries in the oven and dip them in ranch.  Instead, I decided to brush my teeth, take my contacts out and go to bed.  Success!  I was really proud of myself for not eating a bunch of empty calories when I knew I was fine without eating.

Other eats for the day

I had a banana when I got to work.

Later in the morning, I had a Fiber One brownie.

Lunch was leftover Turkey and Zucchini Casserole

Later in the afternoon, I found this granola bar in my desk drawer.

Total calories – 1135 (not including what I burned on the treadmill)

We have Dane’s softball party this evening.  The guys requested I bring cookies, so I better get to baking.  Have a wonderful day!

Do you have anything exciting planned this weekend?  Do you ever talk yourself out of eating when you know you don’t “need” anything?

are you counting calories or weight watcher points?

I have been trying to do both, but then it ends up wasteing so much time that i end up not doing either. I HAVE TO GET THE SCALE moving again… this slump is really getting the best of me! Love reading your blog. I can always count on a new post to read each morning! :) :) :)

Thank you so much! :) I used to count WW points but I use MyFitnessPal to count calories now. I actually ditched the scale for this entire month because I was going crazy. I’m going to weigh and take measurements on August 1st.

  1. [...] hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine went by in a flash as usual.  Friday night we went to a baseball game, Saturday we did our weekly grocery shopping and I baked cookies for Dane’s end of the season [...]
