Three Thursday Things

Good Morning!  Today is actually my Friday!  :)  Looking forward to camping and a 3 day weekend.

1.  The nurse from my doctor’s office called yesterday with the results from my blood work.  The good news is – my cholesterol went down and my iron appears to be normal now (it was low last year).  The bad news – my thyroid levels are still considerably higher than they’d like them to be.  My dosage is being increased and I have to go back in 4 weeks to have it checked again.  She asked if I’ve been tired lately and the answer is most definitely YES. My triglycerides are also considerably higher.  She suggested I focus on eating less carbs and sugar.

2. I finished 50 Shades of Grey in 24 hours and have already started the second book – 50 Shades Darker.

3. Dane and I decided to go to a Daytona Cubs game last night.  The score was 2-2 for most of the game, but the Cubs pulled through a hit a home run with 2 outs in the 9th inning.  Definitely an exciting end to the game.  I took this picture of the International Speedway bridge as the sun was setting.

Wenesday eats

Breakfast was overnight oats.  I know, you’re shocked.

Lunch was very familiar as well.  The last of the leftover quinoa and roasted veggies.

My afternoon snack was plain greek yogurt and some strawberries.

I planned on having a veggie wrap before we went to the game, but we didn’t have any veggies since we’re going to be gone this weekend and we didn’t want anything going bad.  I ended up just having a low carb spinach tortilla and some hummus.

On the way to the ballpark, I had an iced coffee that I made with leftover coffee from the morning along with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and Stevia.

I did end up having an unpictured hot dog at the game.  Not good for me, but it was good and almost seems like a necessity.

Do you have Hypothyroidism?  If so, did it take awhile to get your dosage right?

Do you agree that hot dogs and ballparks go hand in hand?

    Yes to ballparks and hotdogs!

And now I’m looking forward to getting my trilogy in the next couple of days… Have a feeling that it won’t last me the vacation, though… ;-)

I have hypothyroidism and it has taken a long time to get the right dosage, but now that we found it, I feel much better. It takes patience to get it right.
Sometimes you have to go with the flow and aq hot dog at a gameis one of those times.
I’ve lost 38 of 150 lbs. I have to lose.
Glad to have found your blog. You are very upbeat and I love the pictures of your food. I may start to do that on my blog.
    We both live in FL.

Hi Monique – I’m glad you found me. What part of Florida are you in?

Congrats on the loss and getting your dosage set. :)

I have patients that take forever to get their dose right!

The good news is that once your dose is correct you will feel so much better. It should also make it a little easier to lose weight! Always a good thing!

I hope you have a good trip camping! :)

My thyroid is goofy, also. It took a little while to get a good dosage that made me feel better and now I get it checked every three months to make sure that I’m on track. I’ve only had to increase it one time in three years. Not too shabby. Also, if you are feeling tired, have them check Vitamin D and B12. Mine were both very low, it’s a common problem, and easily remedied with supplements. :)
