When you’re in the zone, you feel on top of the world. The endorphins are flowing, you’re eating according to plan and you want to share it with the world! If everyone just did exactly what you were doing, they could feel this good, too. Like anything, for me anyway, it seems this “zone” never lasts for an extended period of time. Something always gets in the way and don’t you know, once you get out of the zone, it’s so hard to find your way back. You come up with excuse and after excuse and eventually you forget what that incredible feeling ever felt like.
So, I guess it comes down to how bad you really want it. I’ve never really put a time limit on my weight loss. Some of the best advice I’ve ever received was – Don’t do anything during your weight loss journey that you’re not capable of continuing after you reach goal.
Yesterday was my first time to the gym in over a month and the elliptical kicked my ass! Due to being sick and sitting around for more than 3 weeks, I’m still working on getting all of my energy back. It’s much better than it was last week but I’m not even close to where I should be. Dane even commented that it was nice to see me smiling again.
Now that I’m feeling better, I need to get back to “The Zone.” I really want to get back into a routine. Going to the gym after work yesterday made me realize why I really like getting my workouts out of the way first thing in the morning. I love the extra energy it gives me before work and I like that I don’t have to think about it all day. I can come home and do whatever I want to do without the feeling of guilt from skipping a workout.
When I was on the Prednisone, I got in the habit of staying up way later than I’m used to. Normally, I try to be in bed between 9:30-10 when I have the alarm set for 4:15. My goal for next week is to get to bed earlier and get back into my early morning gym routine. It might be rough for the first couple of days but once I’m used to it again, it will be good.
When I pulled in the driveway after work yesterday, these 2 were waiting in the front window.
When I came in the house, I went to the bedroom to change into my workout clothes and Teagan thought it would be fun to play in the box that Krista sent me.
Dane had a softball game, so I actually made dinner by myself. I feel like I haven’t cooked in so long. I combined some shredded chicken, quinoa, fresh green beans and a little reduced fat shredded mozzarella.
It turned out really good and there was enough leftover for lunch today.
Have a great Friday!
Do you have any exciting weekend plans? My niece turns a year old tomorrow!
Are you in the zone now or are you searching for it as well?
