Good Morning..can you believe it’s Monday again?  It was a fast but good weekend here.  Dane’s sister is heading back to Connecticut this afternoon.  It’s been nice having her around.  For several months, I’ve been asking Dane to walk to the bridge to me.  In this post, I mentioned that he thought he would “die” if he walked that far.  With his sister and I both ganging up on him, he finally agreed to go with us yesterday morning.  So, around 8:00am we headed out the door and guess what?  He survived!  :)

Hopefully this means that he’ll start going with me more often.  Because it was his sister’s last full day in town, we got together with his Grandma, Great Aunt & Great Uncle for lunch.  Choosing a restaurant is always a huge project, since no one wants to make the decision.  I believe it was Dane that suggested we try a place called Mango Sun.  It’s not new but we’ve never been.

We arrived around 12:30pm and only ended up having to wait about 15 minutes for a table.

We started off with some Pineapple Fritters.  The lighting was really bad for picture taking, so I didn’t take one but they were very good.  I highly recommend them.  For lunch I ordered the Mango Salsa Wrap.

It was really good and huge!  I only ate half of it.  The sweet potato fries weren’t crispy but they were definitely homemade.

After lunch we dropped Dane off at home so he could watch the race and his sister and I went swimming by their Grandma’s house.  She lives in an assisted living facility and the pool is almost never being used.

It was HOT out.  I did a little bit of reading.

But we couldn’t stay out of the pool long, even though the water wasn’t even that cool.  From the pool we noticed a list of exercises on a board.

There was a big basket filled with noodles and a bin filled with foam barbells, so we took advantage of getting a second workout in for the day.  :)

We were there for 2 hours and had the whole pool to ourselves.  I need to take advantage of it more often.

For dinner, Grandma wanted us to join her at the dining room.  She’s been living there for a year and Dane and I have never eaten there.  Normally, we just pick her up and take her out for lunch or dinner.  There were only a few different options for dinner.  I chose the Shrimp Caesar Salad.

I forgot to order the dressing on the side.  It was really salty and just ok.  I didn’t eat all of it.  All four of us ordered the chocolate layered cake for dessert.  How can you screw that up, right?  Wrong.  It was extremely dry.

I think we’ll continue to take Grandma out or cook for her when we get together.

I feel like I’ve been saying this over and over again but I really want to use this week to get back into a normal routine.  There have been so many obstacles getting in my way.  Looking forward to some meals at home and working out!

Those foam dumbbells are so cool! It would be fun to do a workout in the pool like that :)
