Runaway Kitty

Good Morning!  I hope you’re enjoying your Memorial Day weekend.  I’m happy to report that I’m feeling much better despite my ears that just don’t want to unplug.  :(  It’s such an annoying feeling and I hate saying “what?” all of the time.  I’m hoping they will pop soon.

Speaking of kitties.  We have a screened in back porch where the cats hang out all of the time.  Most of the time they just lounge around on the grill and watch squirrels.  Yesterday morning, Wrigley was following me everywhere I went which made me wonder where Teagan was.  I looked out on the porch and found this.

Apparently he thought it was a good morning to escape through the screen.  I put my shoes on and walked around outside looking for him while trying to dodge the sprinklers.  I was calling his name but I didn’t see him anywhere.  I grabbed my keys and drove around near the house but only saw 10 other cats.  I pulled back in the driveway and as soon as I opened the car door I could hear him meowing really loud.  He was near my car and as soon as I reached down to grab him, he ran to the back of the house where the sprinklers were on.  I got close to him again but he continued to run and eventually jumped in a window sill to escape the water.  I grabbed him from there and took him in the house.  His little heart was beating so fast.  I think he realized that being outside isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

Wrigley was sure to let me know that he would never do that.  :)  He’s been keeping me company on the couch all week.

Yesterday afternoon was the first time since Tuesday that I actually put my contacts in, put make up on and straightened my hair. (My hair is naturally straight but I smooth it with the flat iron)  Of course I was exhausted after all of that, so I made myself a green smoothie hoping that it would give me some energy.

In the mix:
2 cups spinach
3/4 cup vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
1 large banana
1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries
1 tbsp chia seeds

Dane had to work all day, so when he got home he asked if I wanted to go to a Daytona Cubs game.  He knew I was feeling better and probably wanted to get out of the house.  Any other time I would love to go but I was worried about the noise and my ears, so we decided to go out for dinner instead.

Sushi!  We really liked the roll we had the last time we were here but we couldn’t remember what it was called.  We started off with some Edamame.

We split 2 rolls  First was the Volcano roll.

And next the Dragon roll.

They were both really good!  Don’t you love the fancy designs they make with the sauce?  I talked Dane into going for Froyo after dinner!  We don’t have one super close to our house and normally we’re too stuffed after dinner.

I had just a little bit of peanut butter, chocolate and cookies n cream with a few different toppings including some fruit.  ;)

The silver lining of being sick is I actually weigh less than I did before we went on vacation.  I plan on going for a walk on Monday and will reunite with the gym on Tuesday.  Hopefully I’ll have most of my energy back by then!  We’re doing some much needed grocery shopping this morning and then we have my cousins high school graduation party this afternoon.  Enjoy your day.  :)
